WOW – 28 MAY 2025: CARING TO WIN THE LOST

CARING TO WIN THE LOST
Confidence imparts a wondrous inspiration to its possessor.
Look backward with gratitude and forward with confidence.
It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men.
It is better to take refuge in Him than in the mightiest king (Psalms 118:8-9).
Sometimes we are carried away by our flood of emotions, selfishness, self-centeredness, whims, fancies, and fantasies which make us to forget the divine cost of our salvation.
Many times, we choose to swim in the ocean of self-pity, unfulfilled life and unrealized dreams and vision.
Numerous times, we blame others for our emptiness, failures, defeat, and lack of bonding and fulfilling fellowship.
Church, let us re-examine ourselves and begin to introspect our situation through godly perspective.
Then the truth will emerge. The price of our salvation is extremely expensive; therefore, we must handle it selflessly for God’s glory and for the benefit of others.
The preaching of the gospel and discipling of converts are the most important duties that God has given to us in order to save souls.
At conversion, the ‘babies’ in Christ are to be cared for through the same Word of God that saved them.
There are decrees that are to be delivered to them to keep establishing them in the faith (Acts 16:4).
We are to train them to be self-governing and to handle the Word of God effectively, both for their personal spiritual growth and for others.
1. GOD’S COST FOR MORTAL SOULS (Mark 8:36 / Matthew 18:11-14)
If we examine the greatness of the soul of mortal man as recorded in the Scriptures, we can discover that:
The soul is called God’s breath of life (Genesis 2:7). The body is made of earth while the soul is the breath of God (Gen 3:19 / Ecclesiastes 12:7).
The soul is the one that is made after the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
It is the soul of man that God desires to communion with (Psalms 4:3 / 2 Corinthians 6:16).
It is the soul of man that embraces the grace of God and love of God (Song of Solomon 3:3 / Isaiah 26:9 / John 1:16 / Psalms 51:6).
The greatness of the soul is known by the greatness of the price that Christ Jesus paid for it with His own precious blood (1 Corinthians 6:20 / 1 Peter 1:18-19).
The greatness of the soul is discovered that it is immortal. It will live forever; it cannot be annihilated (Luke 12:4 / 16:23).
As God is interested in the soul, so is Satan also (John 10:10).
The punishment of a sinful soul who died without repentance is eternal (Mark 9:43-44).
2. GOD’S CHARGE AND COMMISSION (Ezekiel 34:4 / Matthew 28:19-20)
The Lord’s mandate to all of us is to make disciples of all men. Whenever the true gospel is preached, the result must be to make disciples.
God had planned, programmed, and prophesied through Christ that the lost mankind would be redeemed (Ezk 34:16, 4).
Mankind is expected to remember the sacrifice of Christ as an offering on the cross and turn in repentance from darkness to light (Genesis 22:18 / Psalms 22:27).
Discipling of new converts is a serious part of the minister’s job.
Leading people to Christ involves a one-time decision but strengthening and making disciples is the business that lasts the whole lifetime.
In coming to Christ, new converts need to know that there is a cross to carry, a devil to contend with and the world to fight against.
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
