Our Guiding Truths

The Bible is the eternal, infallible, immovable, unshakable, impregnable, incorruptible Word of God and it is our sole guide and sets forth criteria for a heaven-bound people.

The scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by holy man of old who spoke and wrote as they were by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).

The Bible is the revelation of God to man, the inerrant authoritative guide for faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17/ 1 Thessalonians 2:13).

The one true God revealed Himself as the eternal, self-existent, immutable “I AM”, the Creator of the universe and the Redeemer of mankind (Deuteronomy 6:4/ Exodus 3:14/ Isaiah 43:10-11).

The triune God is the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

Jesus Christ is the true God and true Man

(Matthew 1:23/ John 5:22-23/ Hebrews 1:1-3).

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).

The first man, Adam fell by his transgression, allowing sin to enter into the world resulting in physical and spiritual death – which is separation from God “For all have sinned……” (Isaiah 59:1-2/Romans 3:23, 3:10).

Blood of Jesus Christ is the only hope of redemption for mankind from the stain of sin.

Salvation is received through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12/ Romans 5:8-13/ Ephesians 2:18).

The Church is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and the church of the first born written in heaven

(Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22/ Hebrews 12:23).

The purpose of God concerning man are:

  • For us to seek and to save that which is lost (Luke 15, 19:10)
  • To be an agency for evangelising the world (Acts 1:8/ Matthew 28:19-20/ Mark 16:15-16)
  • To be a corporate body for which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13)
  • To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16/ 1 Corinthians 12:28, 14:12).

The ordinance of baptism by immersion in water is scripturally commanded.

All who repent of their sins and believe in Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord are to be baptised (Matthew 28:19/ Mark 16:16).

Baptism is a declaration of a good conscience towards God, a symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Acts 2:41, 10:47/ Romans 6:4-5/ Colossians 2:12).

The Lord’s Supper consisting of bread and the cup of the fruit of the vine – is:

  • The symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4)
  • A memorial of His sufferings and death (1 Corinthians 11:26/ Philippians 3:10)
  • A prophecy of His Second Coming (1 Corinthians 11:26) and is enjoined on all believers “till He comes”.

This experience, which is an enduement of power of Christian service was active and necessary for the early church as well as for us all in this present age (Luke 24:29 / Acts 1:4-8 / 1 Corinthians 12:1-31).

There are definite signs that accompany this experience such as:

  • Overflowing fullness of the Spirit (John 7:37-39 / Acts 4:8)
  • Evidence of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • A deepened reverence of God (Acts 2:43 / Hebrews 12:28)
  • Intensified consecration and dedication to work for God (Acts 2:42)
  • An ever-abounding love for the Word of God
  • An ever-abounding love for Christ
  • A desire to see the lost saved (Mark 16:20).

The baptism of all born again believers in the “Holy Spirit” is always witnessed by the physical evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4).

Divine healing was clearly provided for in the Old Testament (Exodus 15:23-26 / Psalm 103:1-3 / Isaiah 53:4-5).

It is an integral part of the New Testament Gospel as taught by Christ, the Apostles and the Early Church (Matthew 8:16-17 / Acts 5:16 / James 5:14-16).

All Christian believers including all ministers should tithe to the storehouse of God from where they receive their spiritual food (Malachi 3:10-11).

We believe in the pre-millennial coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds, to catch away His Bride (Acts 1:11 / 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

The Second Coming of Christ includes the “catching away” (rapture) of the “church (saints)”. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

This is followed by the actual visible return of Christ with His saints to reign with Him on earth for one thousand years (Zechariah 14:5 / Matthew 24:27-30 / Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6).

The millennial reign will bring salvation to national Israel (Ezekiel 37:21-22 / Zephaniah 3:19-20 / Romans 11:26-27) and the establishment of the universal peace (Isaiah 11:6-9 / Psalm 72:3-8 / Mark 4:3-4).

There will be a final judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works (Matthew 25:46 / Mark 9:43-48 / Revelation 19:20, 20:11-15, 21:8).

We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness (2 Peter 3:13 / Revelation 21:1).
