WOW-26 JUNE 2024: RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST, NOT RELIGION OF SHAME (CONT’D)
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Jun 26, 2024

Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST, NOT RELIGION OF SHAME (CONT’D)
“Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now.”
And when they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, they kept all the more silent. Then he said:
“I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the strictness of our fathers’ law, and was zealous toward God as you all are today. I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women, as also the high priest bears me witness, and all the council of the elders, from whom I also received letters to the brethren, and went to Damascus to bring in chains even those who were there to Jerusalem to be punished……..”. (Acts 22:1-7]
- Paul the Apostle had been living his life as an ardent unbeliever following religion instead of Christ Jesus.
- Paul was an ardent opposer of Jesus Christ before he experienced the grace of God that Calvary made available to all sinners.
Such saving grace must be marvellous indeed for Paul to have said, “…I also count all things loss…” (Philippians 3:8). - Apostle Paul tasted of this grace and it aroused such passion and devotion in him that he strove to win Christ.
Luke 22:44
And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Right on the cross, the spear tore the skin of Jesus and the blood for the perfect sacrifice gushed out.
The life of Christ Jesus was poured out on the cross so that man could be set free from the hand of the enemy, the devil, the dragon and the prince of this world who is holding all sinners in captivity.
The first step in living for Christ is to recognise the sins in your life and be ready to confess and forsake them.
You cannot serve Jesus and Satan at the same time (1 John 3:8).
Jesus died on the cross so that all men who are willing can receive forgiveness of their sins and be no more slaves to the devil.
Next, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
Let Him reign in your life. Live by His Word (John 14:23-24).
Jesus declared in John 15:14, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”
The power of God will come upon you to resist sin, to please God and to live righteously when you surrender your life to Christ Jesus (Romans 8:11).
