“HOW TO BE A GOOD SERVANT”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“If someone is serving me, let him follow me; wherever I am, my servant will be there too. My Father will honor anyone who serves me” (John 12:26).
If anyone serves Me, says Adonai Yeshua,
he must continue to follow Me, cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honour him.
HOW TO BE A GOOD SERVANT?
Why do you serve the Lord? Some serve because they think they have a talent, some enjoy being “seen”, others crave for the applause of men. For some it is the best way of getting attention and being noticed. None of these are the right attitudes.
Service to the Lord is a result of accepting Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of your life. You recognize that for all that He has done for you, you can never ever give to Him anything but the surrender of your life and all your talents and all that you have.
Humbly with gratitude you give to Him the best of yourself and your resources to build His kingdom, for His glory and honour, to bless His name and acknowledge His goodness and mercies in your life.
Initially most of us come with this true attitude of service but along the way instead of Christ being the centre of our service we allow ourselves, our pride our ambitions to take the place.
We quarrel among ourselves, try to out-do one another, gang-up to push out someone we dislike, find fault with the authorities, put on an air as if we are “someone”, covet the positions of leaders, come to serve if our moods are good or if there is time and serve Him with a cold heart that does not delight in or know Him intimately.
Without any fear we do all this in the presence of the Holy God Whom we are to serve, for His name and glory. The offering of our talents, the work of our hands to bless Him, the sacrifice of praise of our lips and mouth and material things all become polluted sacrifices that the Lord God does not delight in. The odour of such offerings and sacrifices stinks!
Mat we serve the Lord God Almighty in righteousness and holiness in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Everybody shout, “SO HELP ME GOD!”
Shalom and good morning.
