CLARIFICATION OF THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

So you will recognize them by their fruit. ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord!” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants.” (Matthew 7:20-21)

You’ll know them by the obvious fruit of their lives and ministries. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into heaven’s kingdom. It is only those who persist in doing the will of my heavenly Father.

CLARIFICATION OF THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT   (Matthew 7:16-20 / Galatians 5:22-23)

LOVE (1 Corinthians 13:1-3 / Romans 5:5)

Love is the very basic essential life of the living Christ which expresses itself in all the nine fruit as shown in Gal 5:22-23.
The eight other fruit of the Spirit are anchored in love.

We can easily say that: –

Joy is love exalting
Peace is love reposing
Longsuffering is love enduring
Kindness in love refined
Meekness is love with bowed head
Gentleness is love in action
Temperance or self-control is true self love
Goodness is love in unity and
Faithfulness is love confiding
Therefore the sum of Christian living is just love. Love also grows. (1 Thessalonians 3:12)

JOY
This is love in relation to God’s blessings. Joy comes from the Lord and it is anchored in Him. Jesus is the source of Joy which money cannot buy and might and material cannot give. (Acts 8:8 / Romans 5:11 / 14:17 / 15:13)

This fruit of the Spirit transcends trouble. It transcends leaping over walls of circumstances and abiding through problems, pains and even death.
Joy has always been one of the significant hallmarks of God’s people. (Nehemiah 8:10)

The declaration of God’s word is accompanied by sincere desire to follow its instruction and it will result in a true heart felt joy. This joy of the Lord is based on reconciliation with God and the spiritual presence in our lives.

Joy is maintained by the assurance that we have been forgiven in Christ and restored to fellowship with God. Now we live in harmony with His will. Such joy acts as a fortress to guard us from the troubles and temptations of each day.

Joy acts as the power and motivation to persevere in faith until the end. (Psalms 119:165 / Philippians 4:4)

PEACE
Peace is the state whereby the soul and the spirit of man is so imbued with the presence of God’s gracious Spirit, that He is not easily provoked. Peace is the selfless, self-giving, self-loosing, self-forgetting and self-sacrificing love that is manifested in spite of all adversities of life.

Jesus, the Prince of Peace is the source of this peace. Peace that impacts is a quiet, potent, gracious attitude of serenity and good will that meets the bitterness of others with good cheer and repose.

Peace is calm in crisis, untroubled in trial and determined in disaster (Philippians 4:7 / John 20:21). The Hebrew word for peace is “Shalom,” which means and denotes more than absence of war or conflict.

Shalom basically means harmony, wholeness, soundness, well-being, health, prosperity and success in all areas of life.
Peace can be experienced as wholeness of harmony in human relationships both inside and outside the home.  (Proverbs 17:1 / Romans 12:18 / Jeremiah 33:6)

Shalom and good morning.
