FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Always be humble, gentle and patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)

With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT (CONT’D)

LONGSUFFERING
This is also endurance or patience. It is the powerful ability of selfless love to bear all things and continue in adverse situations. Longsuffering is a generous willingness to try to understand awkward people, disturbing events and unwelcome situations that God allows to come our way.

(Hebrews 12:2) The benefits of longsuffering are: discipline, development and direction. (Hebrews 10:35-36 / Ephesians 4:2)

GENTLENESS
Gentleness must be extended to everyone: our friends, persecutors, revilers, scorners and all who speak evil against us.

Gentleness is loving, appreciating, caring, tending, accommodating and correcting a friend, child, church worker or partner in a firm manner.(Luke 24:25 / Mark 8:35)
Gentleness can also be described as restraint coupled with strength and courage.

Through gentleness we submit when submission is required. Obey when obedience is needed. Respect when respect is required. Responsible when call of duty is made.

Matthew 11:29 teaches us about gentleness in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 10:1-2 teach us about gentleness in Apostle Paul. Numbers 12:3 teaches us about gentleness in Moses the prophet.

GOODNESS
Goodness is God’s special peculiarity. It comes from God. God puts emphasis on it. It is a fruit that comes from the life that has received God’s abundant grace.

In any Christian whose life reflects goodness, surely that life has noble purpose, reliable conduct and trustworthy lifestyle. A Christian life characterized with goodness is good, gracious, generous and always in the godly business of making others happy.

Jesus of Nazareth went about doing good (Acts 10:38 / Galatians 6:9-10). Goodness can be defined as the zeal for truth and righteousness and the hatred of evil. We can express it as an act of kindness or rebuking and correcting evil.

FAITH (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith is our basis for belief. Faith is the divinely implanted principle of inward and wholehearted confidence / trust and reliance in God and His word. (Mark 11:22)
As Christians we must love God to fullness, trust and yield to Him faithfully, in order to serve without reservations.

Faith is active and factual. Faith pushes on, perseveres and positively remains loyal even when there are reverses and disappointments (Luke 17:5). There will be no demonstration of God’s love where there is no faith.

Faith can be defined as unwavering loyalty to a person to whom one is united by promise, commitment, trustworthiness and honesty (Matthew 23:23 / Romans 3:3 / 1 Timothy 6:12 / 2 Timothy 2:2 / 4:7 / Titus 2:10).

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS THE EVIDENCE OF A SURRENDERED LIFE.

Somebody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!

Shalom and good morning.
