“CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRUE BELIEVER”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“So that you may be blameless and pure children of God, without defect in the midst of a twisted and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the sky” (Philippians 2:15).

That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish, faultless and unrebukable in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation, spiritually perverted and perverse, among whom you are seen as bright lights, stars or beacons shining out clearly in the dark world.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRUE BELIEVER
Having accepted Christ, we are expected to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4), separating ourselves from sinful practices of the world (2 Corinthians 6:17-18). Therefore, there must be strong evidence of our definite encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ.

This strong evidence includes: –
Living a righteous life entirely devoid of sin.(Titus 2:11-12)
Bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23/2 Peter 1:4-8)
Studying and meditating on the word of God.(Joshua 1:8/Psalms 1:2)

Praying at all times. (Luke 18:1 / 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Regular fellowship with God’s people. (Hebrews 10:25)
Life of witnessing, pointing others to the Saviour (John 4:28-29)
Defending the truth and standing always on the truth. (Jude 1:3)

CHRISTIAN CONSECRATION AND COMMITMENT TO POINTING SINNERS TO THE DIVINE ADVOCATE
(2 Corinthians 5:17-21 / Acts 8:35 / Romans 9:1-2/10:1 / John 1:46)
Our ministry of reconciliation involves proclaiming to the sinner the terms of mercy and pardon. We are to impress upon the sinner God’s willingness to accept him as he is, as long as he fulfils the conditions of reconciliation by turning away from his sins and forsaking them, so that he can receive pardon.

All men and women from all races, tribes and tongues stand to be forgiven where there is genuine repentance and faith in God. With great burden in our hearts, we must constantly entreat the Lord for the salvation of the sinners around us.

We must also be committed to seeing them confirmed in the faith, (Acts 14:22) and establishing and strengthening the souls and the hearts of the disciples, urging, warning and encouraging them to stand firm in the faith, and telling them that it is through many hardships and tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.
