CHRISTIAN SAINTHOOD

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation — the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new! And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation…..” (2 Corinthians 5:17-19).

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God.

In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God.

CHRISTIAN SAINTHOOD
Sainthood is not an attainment or something we accomplish or achieve or acquire by ourselves but rather it is a state into which God graciously calls men and women. Every believer is called to sanctify himself / herself consistently with their calling. (2 Timothy 1:9)

This happens by cleansing ourselves from all defilement, forsaking sin, living a holy manner of life (1 Peter 1:15 / 2 Peter 3:11) and experiencing fellowship with God in his holiness. According to Easton’s bible dictionary, a saint is one separated from the world and consecrated to God, one holy by profession and by covenant, a believer in Christ. (Psalms 16:3 / Romans 1:7 / 8:27 / Philippians 1:1 / Hebrews 6:10)

Sainthood is not a spiritual title. In the book of Jude 1:14, the saints spoken of here are not the disciples of Christ, but rather the innumerable company of angels (Hebrews 12:22 / Psalms 68:17) with reference to Deuteronomy 33:2.

The word “saint” is also used of the holy dead (Matthew 27:52 / Revelation 18:24). It is not used as a distinctive title of the apostles or the evangelists.
Saints are figuratively spoken of as
A holy temple, (1 Corinthians 3:17) local church,  (Ephesians 2:21) the whole church,
A holy priesthood (1 Peter 2:5)
A holy nation (1 Peter 2:9)

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, God’s own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Somebody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!

Sabbath shalom and good morning.
