THE MISERABLE ATTITUDES (CONT’D)
B. CHARACTERISTICS OF A LOVER OF GOD (Deuteronomy 6:5)
- A lover of God is selfless and people centered.
- A lover of God builds God’s kingdom and not self-empires.
- A lover of God draws souls to God and not to self.
- A lover of God gives freely for the cause of the gospel.
- A lover of God is always a leader with a servant heart.
- A lover of God does not have a “superstar syndrome” and is not self-seeking.
- A lover of God is not ego-centered but possesses servanthood attitude.
- A lover of God gives God what is right and not what is left or leftovers.
- A lover of God kneels before God in order to stand against all odds.
- A lover of God uses prayer as a means of reporting for duty.
- A lover of God always plan ahead for rainy days in order not to be caught in the vicious web of uncertainty.
- When A lover of God is wrinkled with burden, he / she runs to God for a facelift.
C. THE WAY TO FREEDOM (Psalm 125:1-2)
- If you want to be free from all miserable attitudes, then fix your eyes on God. Let your thoughts, actions and deeds be in line with God’s word.
- Do not be quick to take offense, otherwise you will be under the control of those who offend you.
- Do not let your life be defined by people’s actions but be unique in your vision.
- Do not find truth of every event to be bitter, otherwise you will be a slave to those who tell you lies or what you want to hear.
- Do not be touchy or easily angered or irritated, otherwise all your actions will be dictated by situations or circumstances.
- Do not look for easy answers to problems of life, otherwise you will become a prey to empty promises.
- Do not be overwhelmed, preoccupied, dominated or haunted by what people think of you otherwise you will be imprisoned by their thoughts and opinions.
Beloved saints, we must have the courage to think for ourselves.
- We must possess the strength to accept what is necessary to stand on our feet.
- We must have the commitment and discipline to make a difference in all things for the glory of God.
- We are definitely unique in Christ Jesus. Somebody shout, “Hallelujah!”
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
