FELLOWSHIP OF THE BRETHREN

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Oh, how good, how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in harmony. It is like fragrant oil on the head that runs down over the beard, over the beard of Aharon, and flows down on the collar of his robes.” (Psalms 133:1-2)

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron the first high priest, that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments consecrating the whole body.

FELLOWSHIP OF THE BRETHREN
Coming together is a beginning. Staying together is progress. Working together is success. Many people are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.

The desire for fellowship is in-born.
The moment a child arrives in this world he or she begins to crave for fellowship and companionship. Even as grown-ups or adults we seek to enjoy the fellowship of those we love. It is strange to be an island to oneself.

We all need the care and concern of those who have genuine Christian affection for us, although such must not be abused.
The value of genuine Christian love and affection cannot be quantified.

Fellowship is essential to the life of the body of Christ. God in the Holy Bible called us to fellowship. Apostle John declared in his writing that he wants us to have fellowship. People who fellowship are individuals who share something in common. (1 John 1:3)

Paul the apostle also declared that God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9). When we are out of fellowship with God our life amounts to nothing and it is meaningless.

When we are out of fellowship with God the future becomes bleak, blank and unpredictable. In times of trouble, there will be no one to help and support us. No one can walk alone in the hopeless desert of this world.

To refuse the call of fellowship is to walk in darkness and to abandon ourselves to solitude and isolation. Any attempt of avoiding fellowship with God deepens the enmity between us and God.

To be a sole or lone ranger is to walk a lonely path devoid of God’s favour, grace and divine support. Without fellowship our congregation becomes famished, dry, barren and unfulfilled.

Without fellowship, God’s warm presence conspicuously disappears. Therefore, saints of the Living God make some time for fellowship with other saints and God too. Strike a godly balance now. Do not be overly absorbed with yourself.

BELIEVERS’ FELLOWSHIP IS UNITY IN PURPOSE

Everybody shout, “HALLELUJAH AMEN!

Shalom and good morning.
