Dear worshipers of the Most High in DLCC,
Blessed 26th Church Anniversary!
Today, we come together as one family to lift our voices in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord our God. Twenty-six years ago, He called this assembly into being — and through every mountain and every valley, His hand has upheld us. Truly, in every season, His faithfulness has never failed.
Psalm 136 is a song of praise that repeats one powerful phrase 26 times — “For His mercy endures forever.”
Twenty-six times the psalmist declares the enduring mercy of God. And today, as DLCC celebrates 26 years, we echo that same truth — His mercy has truly endured with us every step of the way!
The psalm begins: “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!” (Psalms 136:1)
Indeed, it is His goodness that has led us to repentance (Romans 2:4). None of us stand here by our own merit — our righteousness is as “filthy rags” (Ephesians 2:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21). We are here today only because of His abounding goodness, sovereign grace, and enduring mercy.
The psalmist praises God for His great wonders — how He made the heavens and spread out the earth (Psalms 136:4–9).
Likewise, DLCC gives thanks for the many signs and wonders God has done in our midst (Isaiah 8:18). He has proven Himself again and again to be the God who fulfills His Word (Isaiah 55:11; Numbers 23:19; Psalms 89:34).
Just as God was with Israel through the wilderness and into the Promised Land (Psalms 136:10–25), He has been with DLCC through every challenge, every trial, and every triumph.
And we believe He too will bring us into our own Mount Zion, the city of the living God (Hebrews 12:22–24).
In Hebrew, the letters of God’s covenant name — YHWH — have numerical values that total 26.
So as DLCC marks 26 years, we are not just celebrating a number — we are celebrating the Name that has covered us, the Name that has provided, protected, and sustained us.
For 26 years, YHWH, our covenant-keeping God, has been with us and for us — and He will continue to be in the years ahead.
So today, DLCC, let us proclaim together:
“Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven, for His mercy endures forever.” (Psalms 136:26)
Twenty-six times declared, twenty-six years demonstrated — His mercy truly endures forever!
To God be all the glory — Great things He has done, and greater things He will yet do in DLCC, for DLCC, through DLCC and with DLCC!
