“TRUE FELLOWSHIP”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“What we have seen and heard, we are proclaiming to you; so that you too may have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Yeshua the Messiah” (1John 1:3).
What we have seen and ourselves heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And this fellowship that we have which is a distinguishing mark of Christians is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ the Messiah.
Responsibilities Of A True Fellowship
A true fellowship carries with it, a two-fold responsibility. One is towards God and the other towards our fellow men.
The strength of our fellowship lies in God and can only be sustained by Him. Our fellowship with God and the Holy Spirit enables us to have the same mind with believers of like precious faith (Philippians 2:5).
When there is a crack in our fellowship with the Spirit, it soon creates a gulf in our relationship with other believers. Our prime responsibility therefore is to keep intact our relationship with the Lord.
We must ensure that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom we were sealed for the Day of Redemption (Ephesians 4:30). Our sacred relationship with God must be guarded jealously.
To maintain this relationship, all forms of base passions must be kept at bay. Apostle Paul declared in (Ephesians 4:31). “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” We must not harbour hatred or malice against our fellow brother or sister.
We must forgive and forbear. The moment you begin to hate the brethren you have broken the cord and link of fellowship.
Another way to preserve true fellowship with the brethren is to be clothed with humility (Philippians 2:3).
Let this same attitude, purpose and humble mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: Let Him be your example in humility.
Somebody shout, “THANK YOU, JESUS!”
Shalom and good morning.
