Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!

THE DECEPTION OF RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY (CONT’D)

BEWARE OF RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY

King Saul was full of religious activity to deceive and manipulate. Like King Saul, many of us go through religious motions only for others to see but God sees our hearts (Jeremiah 17:9-10). The servant of God reminded Saul to put God first by seeking Him before making decisions for war.

Religious activity is an excuse to do our own thing. Those who are bound by religious activities are not submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If Christ Jesus is the Lord of your life, then you are not free to live as you choose.

Jesus may be your Saviour but that is not enough, He must be the Lord of your life too. When Jesus is the Lord of our lives, then we will be obligated to obey and to follow Him.

A Christian is a freed person but not free to sin. We must not think that we are free to live a careless and sin ridden life and ask for forgiveness later. Life in the spirit does not work that way. When Jesus is your Lord and Saviour, you are free from the traps of religious activity.

Religious activity was a cover up for Saul to do his own thing. King Saul probably thought that because he was the king, a display of religious piety was good enough for divine acceptance.

Beloved saints of God, religious activity can be found in many good works. Good works are not bad at all but it must be done out of a right spirit and with right motives.

2 Corinthians 13:5-8

Let us begin to examine ourselves with these questions.

Are we still doing our own thing as usual?
Are we involved in any religious activities due to religious obligations?
Have we submitted our will to the Lordship of Christ Jesus?
Do we go to church just because it is the right thing to do?
Can we see any vain religious activity in ourselves?
Do you pray just because you want others to notice you?

To be continued.

Remain blessed and rapturable,

Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,

Dr. Daniel O. C.
