JOIN US AS WE DECLARE WAR IN THE HEAVENLIES THROUGH 40 DAYS OF FASTING AND PRAYERS BEGINNING APRIL 1st TO MAY 10th.

  • Fasting is a medicine that can strengthen the spirit of a faithful believer.
  • Fasting is not just a physical exercise but a spiritual one that needs wisdom and God’s guidance to engage.
  • Fasting is not being too busy, finding no time to eat.
  • Fasting as a word is derived from a Greek word, “Nestho”, meaning not to eat or abstaining from all food, solids and liquids.
  • Fasting has been neglected in the church of Jesus Christ today due to believers’ extreme food consciousness.

We hardly hear the message of fasting from universal pulpits in churches in these end times due to the ignorance of its power and benefits. The common messages that we hear today from most church pulpits are messages of prosperity and feasting, fellowship over food and in expensive eateries.

Many believers loathe and ignore fasting because they have made the belly their god (Philippians 3:18-19).
Fasting and its benefits are not really known by the modern generation.
However, most servants of God who are highly used of God in the past generations have testified of the benefits of fasting in their lives.
Any believer or body of Christ who want to be on fire for the Lord must not only pray but must also be serious about fasting.

WHEN ARE WE TO FAST?

Sometimes people ask me this common question: “Pastor, when am I supposed to fast?”
Beloved saints of God, read this carefully as the Holy Bible outlines when we are to fast.

  • When we are in need (Ezra 8:21-23)
  • When we face spiritual conflicts (Matthew 4:1-11)
  • When we are under discipline or chastening (2 Samuel 12:16-23) (David)
  • When we are in trouble (Acts 27:9, 33-36)

  • When we are under judgement (1 Kings 21:27-29) (Ahab)
  • When we are sending out missionaries (Acts 13:3) (Paul and Barnabas)
  • When we are in danger (Esther 4:15-17)
  • When we are worried (Daniel 6:18-20, 21-23)

To be continued.

Remain blessed and rapturable,

Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,

Dr. Daniel O. C.
