THE DECEPTION OF RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY (CONT’D)

BEWARE OF SELF-MONUMENTS

Some people tend to build self-monuments called reputation.
King Saul desired to be a man of ill reputation as he slid to deception (1 Samuel 15:12-19).
Saul built a monument for himself because he thought that his victory over the Amalekites was his achievement. But God’s Word in Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit”.

A true heart of humility knows that without God we can do nothing (John 15:5 / 1 Peter 5:6).
Pride is a deceiving force that the devil promotes because it always exalts itself.
Pride leads people to become status conscious even to the point of erecting monuments for themselves.

Pride is a force that led to the downfall of Lucifer (Isaiah 14:14).
It is amazing ow people could be lost in the world of their deception, yet they can pretend to be ignorant.
Whenever people disobey God, they blame it on others or situations around them.

Many times, we are more concerned about our selfish desire than finding out the truth of the matter.
Whenever people are disobedient to God, they will indulge in lying and deception.
King Saul lied about his selfish interest but blamed others for his obvious sin (1 Samuel 15:19-28).

Beloved, the more you lie to deceive and cover up, the more you will lose your battle of life. God is teaching us a powerful lesson by warning us to avoid rebellion and stubbornness which He equates to witchcraft.
