“CHARACTERISTICS AND TEMPTATIONS OF A SPIRITUALLY DESTITUTE PROFESSIONAL”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“For you keep saying, ‘I am rich, I have gotten rich, I don’t need a thing!’ You don’t know that you are the one who is wretched, pitiable, poor, blind and naked! My advice to you is to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be dressed and…… ” (Revelation 3:17-18).

“For you claim, “I’m rich and getting richer—I don’t need a thing.” Yet you are clueless that you’re miserable, poor, blind, barren, and naked! So I counsel you to purchase gold perfected by fire, so that you can be truly rich. Purchase a white garment to cover and clothe your shameful Adam-nakedness. Purchase eye salve to be placed over your eyes so that you can truly see.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TEMPTATIONS OF A SPIRITUALLY DESTITUTE PROFESSIONAL

A destitute is a person who is so poverty stricken that she or he is without the necessities of life. (e.g.) Lazarus the beggar (Lk 16:19-21) Spiritual destitution is worse, in that it manifests in all forms of human degradation.

Examples Of Spiritual Degradation:
The Samarian woman who had five husbands.
The woman of Philippi with the spirit of divination both of whom thought that they were on the right path.

Spiritual destitutes also practice abortion, lying, stealing etc. A spiritual destitute’s prayer is an abomination to God (1 Cor 6:9-10). Many spiritual destitutes also go into occultism, worldliness and adultery in their bid to find happiness, security and satisfaction.

In our world today many professionals are involved in all sorts of occultism and Satanism in a bid to be successful. Many professionals are also exposed to peculiar temptations arising from their work engagement, environment and social status, etc.

Different Professional Temptations
Engineers, architects, quantity and estate surveyors and city planners will be under constant pressure to take bribes and kickbacks.
They face peer group pressure to present an image of influence as their normal way of life.

Will you deny Christ because of your professional temptations? Will you become a spiritual destitute because of your profession?
Fashion designers and hairdressers also face temptations. They aspire to be pace setters, therefore they compete to create new fashion trends which may tend to be immoral and looked down upon by many.

The nature of some jobs, often lead people to frivolous, irresponsible lives characterised with drunkenness, smoking, promiscuity, drug peddling and contraband smuggling of goods. Hence some of these people lead loose immoral lives. Some people use hard drugs for performance enhancements too. It is our ultimate duty to show them the way out of their spiritual destitution into freedom and progress.(Romans 5:6, 8-11)

Prayer of deliverance and salvation in Jesus’ mighty name is all that is needed for all in bondage to be set free.
