MERITS, WAGES AND BENEFITS OF FASTING

Fasting is a means of genuine repentance and restoration (Joel 2:12-13).
Fasting adds quality to our prayer which enables God to release His power on our behalf.
Fasting helps individual spiritual growth and wisdom in revelationary knowledge (Daniel 10:2-3).
Fasting brings about God’s consciousness amongst the believers (Joel 1:13-14 / 2:12-20).

Fasting humbles our soul to God and also proves our seriousness in our relationship with God.
Fasting brings about deliverance and liberation from bondages (Isaiah 58:6-12).
Fasting helps in the selection of workers for the ministry (Acts 13:1-4).
Fasting is a powerful aid to our prayer (Matthew 17:17-21).

Fasting makes us to realize that food is not everything in the life of a Christian (Philippians 3:19).
Fasting subdues our flesh and enables us to triumph over fleshly desires (1 Corinthians 9:27).
Fasting enables us to eliminate unbelief, doubt and helps us to build up our faith and spiritual life in God.

With much prayer and fasting, the absolute will of God for His people will be determined.

Signs and wonders happen in our meetings and our local church because much tears have been shed through fasting and prayer in the closet.
