WOW – 17 SEPTEMBER 2025: ANOINTED TO SERVE (CONT’D)
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Sep 17, 2025
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
ANOINTED TO SERVE (CONT’D)
Psalm 116:12-13
12 What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.
The Psalmist understood that his service to the Lord is a token of gratitude for what God had done for him.
The Psalmist also promised to preach the Word of salvation to unbelievers. His service was inspired by love and gratitude.
A man or woman motivated by love in service will not be proud or arrogant.
When we are anointed to serve, the anointing will break the yoke of flesh, pride, and arrogance.
The yoke of selfishness, intimidation, fault-finding attitude, self-centeredness, and insubordination will be broken from us.
The yoke of eye service and men pleasing will be gone (Gal 1:10). God will take center stage in all our service and decisions. Love for God in our hearts will precede service.
We will exercise joy in service, and we will not serve to condemn others but to edify. When we are anointed to serve, we will build bridges and not barriers.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO DO?
- We must not quarrel with each other unnecessarily.
- We must forget the past and live for the future.
- We must be gentle to all but not being foolish.
- We must correct those in opposition with humility.
- We must strive to live in righteousness, peace, joy and unity.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
- Our selfless service cancels all eye service and hypocrisy.
- We are anointed to self-denial service which is full of grace and mercy.
- We cannot serve the Lord effectively with wrong attitudes and filthy language in our mouths.
- We cannot serve with anger, bitterness, malice, blasphemy, or wrath.
- We must be sensitive when serving the Lord not to quench the Spirit of God by using the wrong choice of words.
FINALLY BRETHREN…
- May our words in service be gracious to remove rough patches in our relationships!
- May our words in service be joyous words to lighten the day for other servants!
- May our words be timely words to remove every stress in service!
- May our words be lovely words to heal all wounds, restore healthy relationships and bless the heart of saints!
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
