“BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF COUNSELLING CASES”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“You will guide me with your advice; and afterwards, you will receive me with honour. Whom do I have in heaven but you? And with you, I lack nothing on earth” (Psalms 73:24-25).

You, Adonai Yahweh, will guide me with Your counsel and afterwards receive me to honour and glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You.

Biblical Example Of Counselling Cases

Through the counselling of Jesus, Nicodemus the ruler of the Jews but confused religious teacher was saved (John 3:1-21).

Through the godly counsel and wisdom of king Solomon, the living child of the harlot was not destroyed (1 Kings 3:12-28).

Through the godly counsel of Daniel the prophet, the lives of the wise men in the kingdom were saved, including that of Daniel / Shadrach / Meshach and Abednego (Daniel 2:1-45).

Through the godly counsel of Joseph, Egypt and the known world was saved from seven years of famine (Genesis 41:14-36).

In view of all these, we must take counselling ministry very seriously.

How Can One Be Effective In Counselling Ministry?

To be effective in counselling ministry, we must:

Have a sound spiritual experience of salvation, sanctification and baptism in the Holy Ghost.

Possess a deep and balanced knowledge of the word of God (Joshua 1:8 / Psalms 119:105-106).

Have a shepherd heart that perpetually seeks to offer sacrificially for the believers’ welfare.

Develop empathy for the hurting and confused.

We must be firm and steady in keeping the standard of God’s word and be available for the believers to see and have access to them.

We must seek and possess the divine wisdom of God for His glory in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

For it is not from man that we draw our life but from God as we are being joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. And now He is our God-given wisdom, our virtue, our holiness, and our redemption. This fulfills what is written: If anyone boasts, let him only boast in all that the Lord has done!
