WOW-14 AUGUST 2024: HOW YOU CAN BE A SPIRITUAL GIANT
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Aug 14, 2024
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
HOW YOU CAN BE A SPIRITUAL GIANT
If you are a Christian, remember that men judge your Lord by you.
The Christian life does not get easier; it gets better.
If a man cannot be a Christian in the place where he is, he cannot be a Christian anywhere.
To be a Christian is to obey Christ no matter how you feel.
Therefore, remember that Christians and camels have one thing in common; they receive their burdens kneeling.
Satan is an enemy of God. Since he hates God, he will surely hate God’s children.
As he planned to overthrow God in heaven (Isaiah 14:13-14), so he plans daily to overthrow God’s children on earth (Job 1:6-7 / 1 Peter 5:8).
But as he failed in his bid woefully then, so also will he fail in our lives in Jesus’ name, Amen! (John 16:33).
Christians face many different conflicts in life but God has made adequate plans for us to always triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14).
A Christian should always rejoice that there are conflicts in the world.
If there are no conflicts in the world, why would God send His only begotten Son into the world to die a wretched death on the cross of Calvary?
(Galatians 3:13 / Hebrew 2:14-15 / John 3:16)
What then will be the purpose of the name of Jesus that is given to us?
As the Scripture declared that in the name of Jesus, every knee should bow (Philippians 2:9-10).
If there are no conflicts and warfare, what will be the purpose of prayer and promises of God that fills the whole Bible?
We must praise God that there is warfare. King David always rejoiced when there was warfare.
Therefore, a spiritual giant is made to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant (Jeremiah 1:10).
WHO IS A SPIRITUAL GIANT?
A giant is a human being possessing spiritual endowment and synergy to stand against the opposing forces of darkness.
In the physical, people are obviously afraid of giants because they stand out among other people.
The example of Goliath is well known to all Bible believers.
Even though Goliath depended on the arm of flesh and his idols which could not save him or anyone else, he was still dreaded and feared even by the Israelites because of his height and stature (1 Samuel 17:16).
In the same manner, Satan and his hosts fear and dread any Christian who is a spiritual giant.
There are many spiritual giants in the Bible such as Joshua, Moses, Joseph, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Elijah, Elisha, Nathan, Samuel, David, Sarah, Deborah, Esther, Ruth, Timothy, Paul, Peter and all the faithful apostles.
Still in our contemporary times, there are spiritual giants such as Wigglesworth and his wife, Kathryn Kuhlman, MacPherson, William Seymour, Bill Bright, Kenneth Hagin, Dr. Henrietta Mears, Catherine Booth and her husband, Derek Prince, John Wesley and Martin Luther.
Every heaven-bound believer should and must aspire to be a spiritual giant
1. SALVATION, THE PASSWORD TO SPIRITUAL GIANTHOOD
(John 3:3, 5, 7 / Habakkuk 1:13 / Romans 3:23 / 6:23 / Psalms 66:18)
Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God said emphatically that, “…unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
God hates sin, however minute it is. Sin separates us from God (Isa 59:1-2). Sin hides God’s face from us.
There can never be any communion or fellowship between God and a sinner (Psalms 7:11 / 2 Timothy 2:19).
Therefore, before anyone can ever call God his Father, he must be free from sin through the atonement death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.
In preparation for becoming a spiritual giant, we must realize our sinful nature, confess those sins to God, forsake them, ask for pardon and accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour. Pray in faith and believe it is done! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
