Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES (CONT’D)
Problems Of Competition And Comparisons
There must not be any competition or comparison, but we must maintain the spirit of complements with one another.
Many leaders are dying silently because they could not rise up from where they are due to the spirit of competition and comparison. This wicked spirit must be driven out of the affected leaders (2 Corinthians 10:12).
Problem Of The Lack Of Servant Heart Attitude
Many leaders never understand that a leader is only a servant. Jesus led by example (John 13:13-17).
Problem Of Wrong Priority
We must set our priority right. Wrong priority is actually an enemy to the leadership.
Our priority must not be based on our emotional feelings, sentiments, whims, fancies or fantasies but rather it should be based on substance and realities. The priority of choosing leaders must not be based on social status, position, class or titles.
These must not be the perimeters but our base must be on faithfulness, commitment, sincerity, honesty and godliness.
We must not just hand pick our ‘yes’ men and women. Some leaders operate on an unwritten code in their leadership selection. This must not be our style but we must act in faithfulness (1 Corinthians 4:1-2).
Problem Of Handling Success
Many leaders do not know how to handle success. Some idolize success or even claim the credit of success.
Sometimes, leaders get carried away by focusing on the success instead of God Himself Who gave the success (Deuteronomy 8:17-18).
Ministry success must not be seen only from the angle of material possession, physical size or numerical expansion.
This wrong method of valuation has led many people to wrong pursuit.
Problem Of Building Personal Kingdom
Some leaders are focused on building their personal kingdoms rather than that of Christ Jesus.
Beloved saints of God, let us be used by God for His kingdom building and expansion, not building ours.
Many times, highly talented, gifted, visionary and purpose-driven leaders are so consumed to what they are doing that they forget about God and His leading. Sometimes these leaders are deceived into thinking that their ministry or church is the kingdom of God on this planet earth.
Problem Of Damaging Church Image
The misbehaviour of pastors and church leaders have created a wrong image for the church.
Unbelievers, the society and the world at large are seeing the church as a commercial venture and no more a spiritual institution.
Problems Of Mega Churches
Consciously or unconsciously, pastors of mega churches tend to behave as if they own their territory.
Sometimes, they also tend to look down on smaller churches, control and demand obeisance.
Of course, not all mega churches behave that way.
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
