FIGHT A GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

But you, as a man of God, flee from these things; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called……..” (1 Timothy 6:11-12)

But as for you, O man of God, flee from all these things; aim at and pursue righteousness, right standing with God and true goodness, godliness which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike, faith, love, steadfastness, patience, and gentleness of heart.

Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and for which you confessed the good confession of faith before many witnesses.

FIGHT A GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH
There are many Christians who feel that words like fight, struggle, strife and labour have no place in the daily experience of children of God.

They think that Christianity centres on life flowing like a stream never having anything to restrict, resist or restrain. Some Christians go beyond context by thinking that to fight a good fight of faith only relates to healing, prosperity and material things.

FIGHT OF FAITH IS A FIGHT AGAINST
The tempter our eternal enemy.
(2 Corinthians 11:14-15 / Ephesias 6:10-12)
Fight against the fashion of this world. (John 17:14-16 / 1 John 4:4-5 / 5:18-20 / James 4:4) Fight against tendency to follow the thinking line of this world. (1 John 2:15-16)

WHEN DOES THIS FIGHT BEGIN?
It begins the very moment you are born again.
The gate of heaven is ahead of you for you to enter but there are forces pulling you back such as: Old boyfriend and Old girlfriend.
The devil and Worldly friendship.

Relatives with their cunning craftiness, subtlety and cleverness of man Remember that from the time of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of God has suffered violence and the violent take it by force.

WE MUST FIGHT AGAINST:
Every idea and temptation that stops us from gaining entrance to the Kingdom of God.
Jesus said strive to enter the narrow gate. Even after gaining entrance to the kingdom, we must take and stand our ground because the enemy may try to bring the memory of the past to entice us.

The people of Israel after coming out from Egypt remembered the garlic, onions and cucumbers in Egypt. Fight against fleshly passion (1 John 2:15-17 / James 4:4). Fight against inner struggle of personal habits. (Galatians 5:17 / Romans 7:15-18)

THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD BUT VICTORY IS OURS IN JESUS’ NAME!

Everybody shout, “AMEN HALLELUJAH!

Shalom and good morning.
