Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!

TOOLS FOR FRIENDSHIP EVANGELISM

Friends are family you choose for yourself.
Friends are proved by adversity.
Friendship is a sheltering tree.
Friendship which lasts are those wherein each friend respects the other’s dignity to the point of not really wanting anything from him.

What are the real tools for friendship evangelism?
This topic brings us to the knowledge of the job we are called to do and also how to use the right tools for it.

A well-trained workman knows the right tools for different types of jobs at a given time.
No workman can perform well on the job without knowing the appropriate tool that fits the particular job he or she has to do.

We believers are like well-trained workmen making use of the right tools for better performance on the job committed to us.
That is why we are dealing with “Tools For Friendship Evangelism” as a topic, having understood that friendship evangelism is the biblical art of cultivating and developing friendship with the unsaved and with the view of reaching them with the gospel message.

In order to cultivate and develop friendship with unbelievers to win them for Christ, we must always offer our honourable services with kindness through the divine nature of God.

What are the tools of friendship evangelism?
The tools for friendship evangelism are:

  • SERVICE
  • HOLINESS OF LIFE
  • KINDNESS

SERVICE (Luke 19:10 / John 4:34-38 / 10:11, 15 / 13:13-17)

We are saved to serve. Our service is both to the Lord and to men.
Our testimony as believers will not be complete if we do not render an appreciable service to the Lord, touching the lives of men and women, boys and girls through friendship evangelism.
We need to pour ourselves into service and then we will find joy.
It is obvious that the greater part of Christ Jesus’ life was spent in serving humanity.

We are to follow Christ’s example in service. How did Jesus serve?

  • He served sacrificially
  • He served lovingly.
  • He served joyfully.
  • He served promptly.
  • He served frequently.
  • He served willingly.

From Jesus’ example in service, we can see Him demonstrate the character of a true servant in service (1 Peter 2:21).
What made Jesus a true servant in service? He did all He could to make life better for others.
He did all He could to ensure peace and joy for others. His first priority was not Himself but others.

Every believer can be a light even as Jesus was, or at least we can be a bright spot for one lonely heart or one dying soul. (John 12:26).

To be continued.

Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,

Dr. Daniel O. C.
