“CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAVEN BOUND BELIEVERS”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation — the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new! And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).

Therefore, if any person is ingrafted in Christ the Messiah, he is a new creation, a new creature altogether; the old previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself, received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him.

CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAVEN BOUND BELIEVERS
The heaven bound believers are renewed people. They are beacons of light in this dark world of sin. The light in their life brightens the corner where they are found.
The heaven bound believers are like salt that purifies / heals / flavours and preserves souls.

Practically the life of the heaven bound believers are characterised by:-
Total freedom from sin (1 John 3:9).
Daily reading and meditation of God’s word (Joshua 1:8).

Purity of life (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Prayerfulness and watchfulness (1 Thessalonians 5:17 / Matthew 26:41).

Good works of love and mercy / kindness / tender hearted / compassionate and forgiving like Christ (Galatians 6:2,9-10 / Ephesians 4:32).
Constant and consistent obedience to God’s word. (Psalm 119:16)

Complete divorce from the world and sinful companions (1 John 2:15-17).
Self-denial and daily cross bearing (Luke 9:23).
Commitment to soul winning (John 9:4).

There are examples in the Bible of people who were heaven bound and are light to their dark world. Some of these are:

Moses (Heb 11:23-30)
Gideon / David / Samuel / ✳Jephthah (Hebrews 11:32-34)
Abraham / Noah / Lot / Elijah / Elisha

Ruth (Ruth 1:16-17) is a shining light in the dark world.
Lydia (Acts 16:14-15)
Priscilla (Acts 18:1-3)
Deborah (Judges 4:4-10)
Sarah (1 Peter 3:6) A meek and humble wife.
Abigail (1 Samuel 25:14-26) A woman full of wisdom.
