“BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF A JOURNEY TOWARDS GREATNESS”
Saints of God Most High, let us learn from King David about his journey to greatness.
TESTS TOWARDS GREATNESS
Some people dream of worthy accomplishments, while others stay awake and experience it.
It is great and good to be great but before one can reach the greatness point, there are manifold tests to pass through.
To be great is to be enlarged, making great impact and influence.
To reach one’s position of greatness in life, beloved, there are hurdles and fiery tests to overcome. Greatness is a process and the process is a painstaking one.
Now let us consider a biblical patriarch of great stature, the man King David.
We can draw a lot more from his experience to his greatness.
King David was the greatest king in the land of Israel. He was a mountain peak among biblical characters. King David’s tests to greatness enlightens us greatly in this topic.
THE TESTS TO GREATNESS
Obscurity Test: This is the test of being unknown (1 Samuel 16:11-12).
David was taking care of the sheep and the world did not know him. Only God can make a man known by His divine provision.
Test Of Low Status Task:
David was designated to do the menial task of shepherding the sheep of his father (1 Samuel 17:20).
Test Of Faithfulness and Hard Work:
David confronted the attacking lion and bear, overcame and killed them (1 Samuel 17:34-36).
Unrecognition, Unacknowledgement Test:
David was completely forgotten when Samuel the prophet visited his family to anoint him by God’s instruction (1 Samuel 16: 5, 10-11).
Obedience Test:
David was obedient to his parents (1 Samuel 17:17-18).
Zeal and Patriotism Test:
David put his life on the chopping board to restore Israel’s honour and glory even though wrongly accused and misunderstood (1 Samuel 17:28-29, 36-37, 45-47, 50-51).
Humility Test:
David became a servant to King Saul. He served in the palace before becoming king (1 Samuel 17:57-58 / 18:5).
YOU SHALL BE GREAT IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!
Somebody shout, “AMEN & AMEN!”
Shalom and good morning.
