BELOVED, BE AN OVERCOMER FOR THE GLORY OF ADONAI!

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother” (1 John 3:9-10)

Everyone who is truly God’s child will refuse to keep sinning because God’s seed remains within him, and he is unable to continue sinning because he has been fathered by God himself.

Here is how God’s children can be clearly distinguished from the children of the Evil One. Anyone who does not demonstrate righteousness and show love to fellow believers is not living with God as his source.

WHAT IS BESETTING SIN?

Besetting sins are those sins to which you are easily liable or which you are likely to find yourself frequently falling into. Besetting sins vary from one person to another.

For instance, Samson’s besetting sin was lust for women (Judges 14).
Abraham’s besetting sin was telling lies (Genesis 12:11-20).
Israel as a nation, had the problem of fastidiousness, murmuring and frequent complainiong (Exodus 17).

In our generation, besetting sins range from pride, inordinate affection, selfishness, stubbornness, laziness, idleness, lying, cheating, stealing and immorality to cunning craftiness.

How does besetting sin begin? Besetting sin comes through the sinful indulgences of pre-salvation days. If there is any sin you frequently indulged in as an unbeliever, watch out, for your besetting sin is more likely to come from there.

Besetting sin may arise through peculiar weaknesses in one’s character. For example, Apostle Peter obviously had problems with fear, but he tried to be courageous. He was not willing to admit it even when Jesus pointed it out.

Because of the fear of being arrested, Peter denied Jesus Christ thrice before the cock crowed. Secondly, because of fear, he withdrew and separated himself from having dinner with the Gentiles (Galatians 2:11-14).

Beloved, pull down the besetting sin in your life before it pulls you down. Stop denying it. Deal with it now in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

YOU ARE CALLED TO BE AN OVERCOMER.

Somebody shout, “HALLELUJAH AMEN!

Shalom and good morning.
