TO BRIDLE YOUR TONGUE IS TO LIVE A BLESSED LIFE!

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

For we all stumble in many ways; if someone does not stumble in what he says, he is a mature man who can bridle pplhis whole body. If we put a bit into a horse’s mouth to make it obey us, we control its whole body as well……” (James 3:2-6)

  • We all fail in many areas, but especially with our words. Yet if we’re able to bridle the words we say, we are powerful enough to control ourselves in every way, and that means our character is mature and fully developed.

  • Horses have bits and bridles in their mouths so that we can control and guide their large body. The same with mighty ships, though they are massive and driven by fierce winds, yet they are steered by a tiny rudder in the direction wanted by the person at the helm.

  • So the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it carries great power! Just think of how a small flame can set a huge forest ablaze.

  • The tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.

  • The tongue can both kill and destroy others. With the tongue people are criticized and discouraged. Some people have committed suicide because of the wrong use of the tongue.

  • The tongue can break marriages and sow discord. The tongue can drive children away from home and keep them out of fellowship with their parents.

  • Some business people lose customers because of the wrong use of the tongue. Many students have grown to hate certain subjects in the school and colleges because of their teacher’s unbridled utterances.

  • Wrong use of the tongue brings sicknesses and diseases upon our lives. But we have a choice between life and death because the Bible says so. “They that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

BRIDLE YOUR TONGUE AND BLESS YOUR LIFE!

Somebody shout, “SO HELP ME GOD!

Shalom and good morning.
