“DO NOT REFUSE CORRECTION FROM THE RIGHTEOUS AS IT IS AN ACT OF LOVE FOR YOUR WELL BEING”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“Let the righteous strike me, let him correct me; it will be an act of love. Let my head not refuse such choice oil, for I will keep on praying about their wickedness.” (Psalms 141:5)

Let the righteous man smite and correct me, it is a kindness. Oil so choice let not my head refuse or discourage; for even in their evils or calamities shall my prayer continue.

David, a man after God’s own heart who sought to please God all his life, knew what it was to sin and be corrected. When he sinned with Bathsheba, Nathan the prophet of God came to him, “Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, doing evil in His sight?” (2 Samuel 12:9). David recognised that he had sinned against the Lord (2 Samuel 12:13).

He took the correction as it was from the Lord and not from the prophet as a person. He considered it a kindness when a righteous man corrected him.

Most of us pretend to be humble before the person who corrects us, but what is our attitude the minute they are out of sight?

“Who does he/she think he/she is? Who appointed him/her over us? Is he/she God?
Is he/she so perfect that he/she should find fault with us? Is he/she so perfect that he/she should point a finger at us?”

If these thoughts are in your mind, it is time for a real change in your heart.
Those who correct us have love, concern and regard for us and our household to be at our best.

If we can see beyond the person and see that the correction comes from the Lord, we would not harbour such a negative attitude towards the person God uses to correct us.

The real test to see if your attitude is right, is whether you can sincerely pray for those people during their trials and calamities.

Beloved, take correction and discipline from a righteous man. Do not let discouragement or bitterness be in your heart, for if your eyes are open, you would know that you can only get to be a better person and a more useful vessel in the service of the Lord.

To learn the truth you must long to be teachable or you can despise correction and remain ignorant.

NEVER REJECT CORRECTION FROM THE GODLY!

Shalom and good morning.
