“BELOVED, USE YOUR TONGUE RIGHTLY TO BRING GLORY TO ADONAI”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Therefore, my dear brothers, let every person be quick to listen but slow to speak, slow to get angry; for a person’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness………” (James 1:19-21)
Beloved brethren, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose.
So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit, we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has the power to continually deliver us.
Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let His Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life!
IS YOUR TONGUE CONTAMINATED?
If your drinking water was contaminated with the sewage and drainage water, would you drink that water even if you were desperately thirsty?
Have you considered what you have been offering to the One to Whom you owe your whole life, the Lord, Almighty God?
You have been coming to Him and bringing Him your praises with a contaminated tongue.
On one side you bring praise, worship and your prayers but within a little while you turn back to your evil ways of condemning others, fault-finding, grudging and holding resentments.
How can your praises be pleasing in the sight of the Lord? How can His favour rest upon you if you continue without repentance in all your self-righteous ways?
There is so much power and influence in your words. Use your tongue rightly to bless the Lord, to bring your sacrifice of praise to Him, to preach the gospel, to pray for others, to bring cheer and comfort, to bring words of guidance and counsel, and to bring encouragement to build bridges between relationships.
If you are too quick to pronounce judgment, criticize, or gossip about people or situations of which you have no knowledge or received those pieces of information, be extra careful. Satan is out to destroy you.
Beloved, do you see yourself as a vessel that can bring glory and honour unto the name of the Lord? Then place everything that is brought into your hearing to the feet of the Lord. Ask the Lord how He can use you in that particular situation to bring peace, unity and love.
Pray for the people concerned and for a special touch of the Lord upon yourself that you do not cross bounds that will cause shame to the Lord and to your witness.
TAME YOUR TONGUE AND SAVE YOUR LIFE FOR GOD’S GLORY!
Shalom and good morning.
