HOW TO UPKEEP YOUR SPIRITUAL DEDICATION!

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

But now, put them all away, anger, exasperation, meanness, slander, and obscene talk. Never lie to one another because you have stripped away the old self, with its ways:” (Colossians 3:8-9)

Now, let us put away and rid ourselves completely of all these things: anger, rage, bad feelings toward others, curses and slander, and foul-mouthed abuse and shameful utterances from our lips!

We must not lie to one another, for we have stripped off the old unregenerate self with its evil practices.

HOW TO UPKEEP OUR SPIRITUAL DEDICATION

What do we really mean by the term spiritual dedication? By the term spiritual dedication, we mean divine devotion, commitment, single-mindedness, divine adherence, faithfulness, wholeheartedness etc.

Therefore, to maintain our dedication to God Almighty, we must learn about two categories of things:

The things to put off and the things to put on.

THE THINGS TO PUT OFF

We are to put off:

  • The old man (Ephesians 4:22 / Colossians 3:9)
  • Anger (Colossians 3:8)
  • Wrath, fury, displeasure, ire, indignation, rage, resentment (Colossians 3:8)

  • Malice, ill will, animosity, evil intent, hate, spite, vindictiveness (Colossians 3:8)

  • Blasphemy (Colossians 3:8)
  • Irreverence, cursing, impiety, profanity, sacrilege, swearing.

  • Filthy conversation (Colossians 3:8)
  • Dirty, foul, polluted, unclean and squalid language.

Let your speech at all times be gracious, pleasant and winsome, seasoned as it were with salt, so that you may never be at a loss to know how you ought to answer anyone who puts a question to you.

Somebody shout, “THANK YOU, JESUS!

Shalom and good morning.
