PRAYER, THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD
What do we mean when we say prayer is the heartbeat of God? What happens when we pray? What are we actually doing when we are praying? What are the things that God wants us to pray about? How do we enter into the presence of God with prayer? What are we supposed to pray against in these endtimes?
He who prays walks in the spirit. He who communicates with God is praying. When you tell God about somebody’s need, you are praying. The Bible tells us that men ought to pray without fainting. God’s Word also exhorts us to pray without ceasing. Are you praying? Many people can talk non-stop; can they pray without ceasing? Some people pray for a few minutes and feel that they’ve already covered everything they need to pray for. Some do not pray at all. These people do not understand that their Heavenly Father longs to hear their voice in prayer.
Prophet Isaiah declared and affirmed what God has come to accomplish for us through His Son Jesus. “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5). These verses tell us that in fulfillment of His Heavenly Father’s will, Jesus has came to set us free, cleanse us from our sinful nature, change us from our old ways to a new way of life and remove all our sicknesses. How can we enforce all these promises in our lives? It is through prayer that we receive the promises of God.
Maybe you feel that your future is bleak. Prayer can change that outlook. The only key to victory in your life is to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is with you. If Jesus is in your boat, it will not sink. If the Lord is in our circumstances, they will not overwhelm us. If Jesus has come to heal us, sicknesses will be a thing of the past. Diseases will turn into testimonies for the glory of God.
Yours for the kingdom of God,
