GOD WHISPERS, “BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD” – PSALM 46:10

Beloved Saints of God,

A BLESSED AND JOYFUL CHRISTMAS TO ALL DEEPERLIFERS!
To enter into God’s presence requires us to silence all competing voice in order to HEAR HIS VOICE. Intimacy with God requires not only listening but also OBEDIENTLY ABIDING with Him. Without listening we cannot know God and knowing Him involves a STILLNESS that renders every other voice silent except His. Abiding begins with listening and hearing what God says. But true listening cannot happen without obedience. Time spent in worship, prayer, silence, singing, serving, witnessing or giving can become an invitation for God’s presence.

From LISTENING, we move to OBEYING what we HEAR in His presence. From OBEDIENCE, we discover that His presence empowers us to develop intimacy as well as to accomplish what He desires. The loud noises and distractions of competing voices often drown the STILL, SMALL VOICE OF GOD. Can we hear God in a noisy world of handphone, u-tube, face-book, internet, email and television?

HEAR AND OBEY: Once we have heard God’s voice, will we be willing to OBEY or be willing to follow what He says without knowing fully the outcome? His presence seems to disappear when we fail to act upon what we have heard Him whisper into our spirit. Letting go of every distraction from our past sins and disobedience may not be easy. For so long, we have followed the tune of the world (including Christmas Celebration) we fail to hear the melodies sung from the heart of God.

ABIDING INTIMATELY. Abiding speaks of faithfulness and closeness. We cannot abide in God’s presence if we come in one moment and leave the next. Just like marriage, intimacy develops because of proximity and trust that grows deeper and deeper. God’s presence is more than knowing Him; it is abiding in Him and His Word.

BEARING FRUIT: FINDING God’s presence and abiding in Him produces much FRUIT. We cannot be in His presence without being changed. That change produces fruit in our lives that makes us more like Christ.

MAY YOUR JOURNEY OF WALKING WITH GOD BEGIN THIS CHRISTMAS!

Shalom in Jesus’ love,
Pastor Brian Chua
