Beloved brethren,

Members of God’s endtime army must be willing to ‘die to self’. Are you willing to die to self? Every one has their dreams and fantasies but are you willing to forego all your desires? This is the reason why Jesus said that if anyone loves anyone or anything more than Him, he or she is not worthy of Him. This does not mean that God is asking us to throw away our responsibilities towards our family or work but He is telling us that He must come first above everyone and anything.

Some people are unwilling to respond to the divine call to die to self, because they view it as a form of manipulation, weakness or loss of rights. The Bible makes it clear that the amount of ‘death to self’ in your life will determine the amount of resurrection power of Jesus in your life! Man’s ways are not God’s ways. If you choose not to retaliate when wrong is done to you, victory will be yours. Allowing God to intervene instead of lashing out in anger may be perceived as weakness in the physical world, but such an attitude is actually a spiritual strength. ‘Dying to self’ means obeying God at all costs, even when it goes against your human nature.

In the Book of Acts, when the early Christians were persecuted, they praised and thanked God and counted themselves worthy to be able to suffer for the cause of the Gospel (Acts 5:41).

If you want to be in God’s endtime army, you must be prepared for persecution as you choose to be holy in this evil world. Many Christians find it hard to turn away from the things of this world. They see their neighbours getting new possessions and they quickly seek to match or top them!

Members of God’s endtime army intercede constantly to establish His kingdom on earth. Intercessors must know that there is no true worship without sacrifice! If you truly want to serve God, you must be willing to change and die to the fleshly areas and things that you are still reluctant to surrender to God. Be dead to the flesh and alive to the Spirit! If you want to please God, you must die to self in all aspects of your life.
