Dearly Beloved Mothers,
Miriam is the first woman who sang to the Lord for the deliverance of Israel from Egypt (Exodus 15:21). In the book of Judges Deborah sang to the Lord a whole chapter (Judges 5) giving praises for the victory won! In verse 3 she says, “I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.”
Mary burst forth into a song of joy when she visited her cousin Elizabeth and rejoiced with her at the goodness of God. “My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He who is mighty has done great things for me And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.” (Luke 1:46-47)
All these women sang praises to the holy name of the Lord for the great marvels, miracles, deliverances and blessings in their lives. They sang of the greatness and victorious power of the Lord.
Beloved sister, today is, Mother’s day – the world has set apart this day for you. While you are at the receiving end of being blessed, appreciated, honored and loved, like these women do you remember to bring your sacrifice of praise, joy and thanks to the Lord who is the very reason for your life, for His plans and purposes in your life and the lives of your children? Can your heart sing songs of worship, trust, praises and worship to the Lord God who appointed you in this place? “Awake, awake, Mother! Awake, awake, sing a song!” Say, “I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel….My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” Sing your praises to the Lord God and bless Him for all that He has done for you: for the miracles, breakthroughs and victories bless Him! Bring your thanks to the Lord Who made this journey possible for you. Days filled with joy, purpose, reason and days worth well living, sacrifices, benefits and happiness, dreams coming through tears of weeping, wisdom, guidance, hope, assurances, promises fulfilled, faithfulness of the Lord etc., You come through each day in this long journey with victory, triumph and being an overcomer and a conqueror! How great is Your God! How great is His holy name! How great are His plans and purposes for your child, and for you, far above where your eyes can see or heart know! Sing today and bless Him! Sing His glory! Sing of His grace and goodness. Sing and bless His great name and of His great power! Pour out of your heart blessings to the Lord for all that He has done and continues to do.
