My Dearly Beloved in the Lord,

We have a great big wonderful God, We have a great big wonderful God, A God who loves every one of us, Done so much for all of us, A great Big Wonderful God!

This is a song I learnt when I was very young and did not really comprehend what the words fully meant. Through the years I have been knowing and experiencing the greatness of the Lord in many ways. The Word of God reveals so much of the greatness of God and often we miss much of it because we are always looking for promises of God to work in our situations.

A great God and there is no one like Him! Think of what He has been doing. Miraculously He created the heavens and the earth. And from the Garden of Eden miracles, miracles, miracles… unending miracles unto this day! When Jesus was on the earth He performed miracles wherever He went. His miracles will continue till the end of the world. Beloved do we recognise God’s greatness through these miracles? Sadly we disregard, ignore, diminish, pass them off except when we need one. Then we run for prayer to anyone who can pray. This is exactly what happened to the people of Israel. There was a continual outpouring of miracles every day in their lives. The pillar of cloud and pillar of fire were great proofs as a reminder of the presence of God, great miracles indeed! Whoever since had a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire following them around every day for forty years? No one! Manna falling from the sky every day during the wilderness journey?  The Manna would spoil if kept for the next day but miraculously on the Sabbath day (which was Manna kept from the previous day) it did not! Who can do such great miracles? Only our Great God Yahweh! The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Ancient of Days, the God who is the same yesterday, today and forever! Now, look back at your life. What are the great, amazing miracles the Lord has done for you? Do you remember? Have you even thanked the Lord for them? Psalm 107 reminds us 4 times to thank the Lord: (vss 8, 15, 21, 31): “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” We are ungrateful people who easily forget, never thank God just like the people of Israel. Psalm 106:13 says, “They soon forgot His works…” The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 105:1: “Oh, give thanks to the Lord!” and to “Make known His deeds among the peoples!” And in verse 2 to “Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!” and in verse 5, “Remember His marvellous works which He has done.”

This is the month of completeness, perfection, miracles, breakthroughs, wonders, signs, marvels, amazing works of the Lord! Believe in the Lord for many great miracles and wonders in your life and in that of your family. Remember them, thank the Lord our Great God for them, testify and tell others of what He has done for you to glorify the name of Jesus.

In the blessed name of Jesus,
Sister Elizabeth Daniel
