“A CARING ATTITUDE”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Who is a God like you, pardoning the sin and overlooking the crimes of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in grace. He will again have compassion on us, He will subdue our iniquities. You will throw…….” (Micah 7:18-19).
Who is a God like You, Who forgives iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retains not His anger forever, because He delights in mercy and loving-kindness.
Adonai Yahweh will again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
A CARING ATTITUDE
Beloved, what do you do more than others? Here is a poser of all times. “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:20).
Our religion or piousness is vain, if we do not meet the Biblical standards. Do you know that the whole gamut of love is couched in the word – righteousness?
You cannot gossip, backbite, slander, curse or speak evil of the person you love. Can you forgive anyone whom you know is hell-bent on destroying you?
Yet, Jesus’ command is to forgive. If not, your Heavenly Father will not forgive you of your own sins (Matthew 6:14-15). As we relate with one another, compassion should be a major ingredient in these relationships.
Mercy is compassion in action. No wonder Jesus told the disciples, “Have compassion on them”. “And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh” (Jude 22-23).
Let us love our enemy, bless the one who curses us, do something wonderful for the one who hates us, and respond to the very ones who persecute us by praying for them. For that will reveal our identity as children of our Heavenly Father. He is kind to all by bringing the sunrise to warm and rainfall to refresh whether a person does what is good or evil.
Somebody shout, “GLORY TO GOD!”
Sabbath shalom and good morning.
