“MAINTAIN MINISTRY CREDIBILITY AT ALL TIMES!”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“We don’t dare class or compare ourselves with some of the people who advertise themselves. In measuring themselves against each other and comparing themselves with each other, they are simply stupid. We will not boast about what lies outside the area of work that God has given us; rather, we will boast within our assigned area…” (2 Corinthians 10:12-15)
Not that we have the audacity to venture to class or even to compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.
We, on the other hand, will not boast beyond our legitimate province and proper limit, but will keep within the limits of our commission which God has allotted us as our measuring line and which reaches and includes even you.
For we are not overstepping the limits of our province and stretching beyond our ability to reach, as though we reached not and had no legitimate mission to you, for we were the very first to come even as far as to you with the good news the Gospel of Christ.
We do not boast therefore, beyond our proper limit, over other men’s labours, but we have the hope and confident expectation that as your faith continues to grow, our field among you may be greatly enlarged, still within the limits of our commission.
MINISTRY CREDIBILITY
2 Corinthians 10:11-18
Apostle Paul was very much concerned about ministerial credibility.
In the above portion of the Scripture, Apostle Paul lays down three important principles that a spiritual motivated Christian must carefully consider viz:
- Avoid human comparisons (v12)
- Avoid inaccurate reports in the name of testimony.
- Avoid exaggerations in your reports on the accounts of events. (vs 13-16)
Seek only God’s commendation and not man’s praise. (vs 17-18)
We as practising Christians must learn to maintain humility, honesty and integrity which are essentials of Christian maturity.
LET OUR WORK SPEAK MORE OF US THAN OUR WORD.
Sabbath shalom and good morning.
