SOME NUGGETS OF TRUTH ABOUT EDIFICATION!

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Oh, how good, how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in harmony. It is like fragrant oil on the head that runs down over the beard, over the beard of Aharon, and flows down on the collar of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon that settles on the mountains of Tziyon………” (Psalms 133:1-3)

How truly wonderful and delightful it is to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity! It’s as precious as the sacred scented oil flowing from the head of the high priest Aaron, dripping down upon his beard and running all the way down to the hem of his priestly robes

This harmony can be compared to the dew dripping from Mount Hermon, which flows down upon the hills of Zion. Indeed, that is where Yahweh has decreed His blessings will be found, the promise of life forevermore!

The Pre-Requisite To Edification Is That The Whole Body Must Be Fitly Joined

Unity of believers is necessary for growth (Gal 6:2). The Unity of believers depends on unity with Christ. The unity of believers is enhanced when we begin to glorify and praise God (Philipp 1:11), when we begin to live a life of testimony (Job 11:8) and when we lead a life that brings light in the midst of darkness (Philipp 2:15).

The Goal Of Edification – Increase of the Body

We are to grow spiritually to numerically.
Quality is to contribute towards quantity.

This is possible only through:

  • Commitment to Christ Jesus
  • Commitment of God’s word

  • Commitment to honesty (Ephesians 4:15)
  • Commitment to live by the word and a desire to grow by the word (1Peter 2:1-2)

SOME NUGGETS OF TRUTH ABOUT EDIFICATION

  • We can edify our neighbours (Romans 15:2)

  • The church can be edified (Acts 9:31/1 Corinthians 14:3, 5)
  • Love brings edification (1 Corinthians 8:1)
  • Speaking in the spirit edifies oneself (1 Corinthians 14:4).

  • We are instructed to edify one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

  • Spiritual gifts are best demonstrated when the church is edified. (1 Corinthians 14:12, 26)

  • The purpose of the five-fold ministry is to edify the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12, 16, 29)

  • Good and Godly words bring edification (Ephesians 4:29 / 1 Timothy 1:4)

LET’S EDIFY EACH OTHER IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!

Everybody shout, “AMEN &, AMEN!
