“BE SOBER & VIGILANT TO GUARD AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants asked him, ‘Then do you want us to go and pull them up?’” (Matthew 13:27-28)
The servants of the owner came to him and said, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field?” Then how does it have darnel shoots in it? He replied to them, “An enemy has done this.” The servants said to him, “Then do you want us to go and weed them out?”
In the battle of life, we need to know who the enemy is, what his weapons and methods are and how we can be triumphant over him.
In the final analysis, we must understand that whenever something goes wrong, an enemy is involved to tempt us, torment us and make us give up. We are informed in Matthew 13:39. The enemy who sowed it is the devil. The harvest is the close and consummation of the age, and the reapers are angels.
The devil is not in the world to play with us but to war against us. He does not move around to entertain anybody but to fight us with proven strategies.
Hence believers are warned to “be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walks about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Remember, the devil does not go about as a lamb, trying to make peace but as a lion wanting to crush, destroy and devour anything that stands in its way.
Satan has a long-term plan as well as a short-term plan. His ultimate goal is to rule and dominate people, holding them in perpetual servitude.
The devil is a master planner, a slanderer who brings false accusations against God’s children. Jesus declared in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Let’s submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Somebody shout, “HALLELUJAH AMEN!”
Sabbath Shalom and good morning.
