FPT: Narratives About True Discipline

Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Mar 08, 2024

Beloved Saint of God Most High,

Calvary greetings to you and yours in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
May the Lord God Almighty bless you with a wonderful and glorious Christ-centred week-end ahead in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27).

Like a boxer, I buffet my body, handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit, not standing the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit.

NARRATIVES ABOUT TRUE DISCIPLINE

You need more discipline than motivation.
The former is reliable, the latter is fleeting.
The idea I can only work when I feel motivated is a road to nowhere.

Converse to understand, not respond.
Listen intently before asserting your perspective.
Empathy unlocks breakthroughs.

Knowing others is intelligence.
Knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength.
Mastering yourself is true power.
If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.

I wish we HATED our own sin as much as we hate everyone else’s. Examine yourself.
Despite how open, peaceful and loving you attempt to be, people can only meet you as deeply as they have met themselves.

Arrogance requires advertising but Confidence speaks for itself in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Somebody shout, “THANK YOU JESUS!”

Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
