“STAND FIRM IN YOUR FAITH TO STRENGTHEN OTHERS OVERCOME THE DEVIL’S SCHEMES!”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“Shim‘on, Shim‘on, listen! The Adversary demanded to have you people for himself, to sift you like wheat! But I prayed for you, Shim‘on, that your trust might not fail. And you, once you have turned back in repentance, strengthen your brothers!” (Luke 22:31-32).

Simon, Simon Peter, listen! Satan has asked excessively that all of you be given up to him, out of the power and keeping of God, that he might sift all of you like grain, But I have prayed especially for you Peter, that your own faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.

Satan tries to sift zealous fervent and faithful believers just as he wanted to do to Simon Peter. The imagery of sifting talks much about the plan and purpose of the devil when he engages in combat with men.

Sifting is generally a domestic activity done by women. Grains like wheat, rice or millet which are to be sifted are poured into a sieve.

The sieve is shaken over time to separate the grain from the chaff, the good from the bad, the useful and profitable ones from the useless and unprofitable ones. This was the plan of the devil for Simon.

He wanted to try Peter through temptations and in the process shake away and sift off every good thing; gifts, anointing, grace and divine presence of God in his life and ministry.

Satan wants to sift you as he first takes you through harrowing, excruciatingly painful experiences.

If he succeeds, he makes you a bench warmer. He removes the fire, zeal and earnestness that originally hallmarked your Christian living, but in Jesus’ mighty name, Satan will fail woefully in all his wicked endeavours against you.

YOU ARE LIFTED, PRESERVED AND SUPPORTED IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!
