PERSIST & PERSEVERE IN PRAYER WITHOUT GIVING UP

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Is there anyone here who, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake……..?” (Matthew 7:9-11)

Do you know of any parent who would give his hungry child, who asked for food, a plate of rocks instead? Or when asked for a piece of fish, what parent would offer his child a snake instead?

If we, imperfect as we are, know how to lovingly take care of our children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is our heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask Him?

Persist and persevere. Do not give up so easily. Press on with your need to the Lord, for it says in Luke 11:9, “Ask and it shall be given you…”. In Greek, the tense implies a continuing and repeated action. Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you…

Do not let Satan discourage your prayer life, steal your hope in the Lord and defeat, frustrate, and cause you to doubt God’s word and His love for you. He delights in seeing you hopeless, broken, drowning in self-pity, confused in your faith, wavering, and doubting your trust in your Father.

Do not yield to any of his ways. You are special to the Lord and He will never turn away His ears to your cries, His eyes to your tears or His heart to your sighs. Continue in faith, believing and trusting the Lord.

Without losing hope, keep on asking. He who keeps you does not sleep nor slumber (Psalm 121:3-4). Neither is anything impossible with God (Luke 1:37).

Even when all outward situations look hopeless, continue to be persistent without losing your faith and hope in the Lord.

Surely, you will find your need answered one day when you praise Him for His faithfulness, goodness and mercy. Keep looking up, for the answer is on the way!

You are blessed in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Shalom and good morning.
