“THE LORD GOD IS A SUN & SHIELD TO THOSE WHO WALK RIGHTEOUSLY”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“For Adonai, God, is a sun and a shield; Adonai bestows favor and honor; he will not withhold anything good from those whose lives are pure” (Psalm 84:11).
For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows present grace and favour and future glory, honour, splendour, and heavenly bliss! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
The promise here is unmistakable. The conditions clearly stated, “walk uprightly with the Lord your God.”
This is why we preach holiness and emphasize on total obedience to the Lord.
This is the reason we encourage every Christian to walk in the narrow way and remain faithful to the word of God in his public and private life.
It is understandable that the blessings of God are attached to the obedience of His word. There are several churchgoers who complain and murmur that they lack the blessings of God, even as they claim to be serving Him.
They concede to their sinfulness but still affirm their devotion to the Almighty God. What hypocrisy!! They can easily admit to their unfaithfulness, “especially pride”, through their words, actions and deeds.
Yet they do not heed any godly sermon that leads them to repentance.
Beloved, repent and forsake your ungodly ways today and turn to the Lord with all your heart. Receive the word of God and obey it excitedly.
Those who continue in their sins and expect to enjoy the promises of God would find their hopes dashed.
Sinners in the church who are stagnant and unprogressive in their spiritual lives remain as the “tail”, while new believers who have been sincerely born again, are forging ahead and becoming the “head”. It is really painful to be the tail.
Beloved child of the living God! Why should you be “the tail” when your Heavenly Father has set you to be “the head”?
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways, your previous and present conduct and how you have fared. Consider your ways now (Haggai 1:5, 7).
Shalom and good morning.
