“BELIEVERS’ FRUITFULNESS”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“You will recognize them by their fruit. Can people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every healthy tree produces good fruit, but a poor tree produces bad fruit………” (Matthew 7:16-20).
You can spot them by their actions, for the fruits of their character will be obvious. You won’t find sweet grapes hanging on a thorn bush, and you’ll never pick good fruit from a tumbleweed.
So if the tree is good, it will produce good fruit; but if the tree is bad, it will bear only rotten fruit and deserves to be cut down and burned. You’ll know them by the obvious fruit of their lives and ministries.
BELIEVERS’ FRUITFULNESS
What is a fruit? It is the enlarged or developed reproductive body of a seed plant consisting of one or more seeds usually protective and supportive. Therefore when we talk about fruitfulness, we mean being fertile, productive in abundance with beneficial results.
Referring to Matt 7:16-20, we are known very easily by not only our physical appearance but also by our fruits. Hence one cannot be a saint and also a sinner at the same time but by their fruits we shall know them.
In order to produce fruits, one must upkeep and maintain the principles of Jesus. The principle of Jesus demands a standard of conduct that surpasses what is normally expected. Why? Because we possess a fullness of life which is God’s gift.
WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD CONCERNING OUR FRUIT BEARING?
Our God wants to:-
Bring forth fruits of repentance. (Matthew 3:8)
He wants our fruit to remain. (John 15:16)
The word remain is from Greek “Meno”, meaning to abide, continue or dwell. God wants us to bring fruit unto Him. (2 Corinthians 9:10 / Romans 7:4)
He wants us to be filled with fruit of righteousness. (Philippians 1:11)
He wants us to be fruitful in every good works. (Colossians 1:10)
We are called to be fruit bearing believers and not barren trees in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Everybody shout, “AMEN & AMEN!”
Shalom and good morning.
