AVOID UNNECESSARY ANGER

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Be angry, but don’t sin — don’t let the sun go down before you have dealt with the cause of your anger;” (Ephesians 4:26)

When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath, your exasperation, your fury or indignation last until the sun goes down.

AVOID UNNECESSARY ANGER
Silence when your words would hurt. Patience when your neighbour is blunt.
Deafness when the scandal flows.
Thoughtfulness for other’s woes.
Promptness when stern duty calls.

Courage when misfortune falls.
A soft answer has often been the means of breaking a hard heart, but anger has always been a means of destruction.

What is anger? Anger is the emotion of instant displeasure on account of something evil that presents itself to our view.

Anger becomes evil when it is protracted, excessive or without a reason (Matthew 5:22 / Ephesians 4:26 / Colossians 3:8)

The word ‘anger’ and ‘angry’ were used first of Esau (Genesis 27:45) and next of Jacob (Genesis 30:2)

The word, ‘angry’ and ‘anger’ were used 289 times in the Bible but used only 12 times in New Testament.
When anger is ascribed to God, it simply means His displeasure with sin and with sinners (Psalm 7:11).

SOME CAUSES OF ANGER:
Cheating (Genesis 27:45)
Unreasonable demand 9(Genesis 30:1-2)
Disobedience (Exodus 4:14)
Sinful act (Exodus 32:19)
Murmuring and complaining (Numbers 11:1, 10)
Criticizing the servant of God  (Numbers 12:9-10 / Miriam victim)

HUMAN DISPOSITIONS:
There are four different kinds of human dispositions:
• Those who are easily angered and also easily pacified.
• Those easily angered and difficult to appease.
• Those not easily angered but easily appeased.
• Those not easily angered but difficult to appease.

Somebody shout, “LORD GOD HELP ME!

Shalom and good morning.
