“KEEP PRESSING ON BRETHREN”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“It is not that I have already obtained it or already reached the goal — no, I keep pursuing it in the hope of taking hold of that for which the Messiah Yeshua took hold of me. Brothers, I, for my part, do not think of myself as having yet gotten hold of it; but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind me and……...” (Philippians 3:12-14)

I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into His abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me His own.

I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.

I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.

KEEP PRESSING ON BRETHREN
Do you sometimes like the Israelites grumble and wish for all the things of Egypt that you have had to leave behind to follow the Lord?

Jesus said this to the man who wanted to follow Him but first wanted to go and say goodbye to those in his house, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back to the things behind is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).

Your walk with the Lord will surely involve many sacrifices. You will encounter unappreciated labour, discouragement even from those in your family, poor response from those you minister to, persecutions and many hard trials from other sources, in your commitment to the Lord.

But do not let this discourage you. You are called, with a high calling. Do not let the trials that you go through or the discouragement that comes wear you down but press on with the work of the Lord.

The word of God says, in 1 Peter 5:9,10, “Withstand him (the devil); ……..” As you remain sincere, true and faithful and keep your eyes only on the Author and Finisher of your faith, you will find true satisfaction, joy, peace and happiness that nothing else on earth can bring.

Keep pressing on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. Press on in the face of opposition, discouragement, persecution and trials, and the One Who has called you will strengthen and deliver you in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
