THE DESTRUCTION OF PRIDE

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Pride goes before destruction, and arrogance before failure. Better to be humble among the poor than share the spoil with the proud……..” (Proverbs 16:18-20)

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the meek and poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

He who deals wisely and heeds God’s word and counsel shall find good and whoever leans on, trusts in, and is confident in the Lord–happy, blessed, and fortunate is he.

Pride has its origin in Satan and it can easily destroy unity, togetherness and communion. When we exalt ourselves above others or keep a class spirit, we divide the body of Christ along party spirit, thereby quenching the spirit of God.

We must see ourselves as heirs together of the manifold grace of God. Inability to overlook minor offences weakens our fellowship. Inability to overlook minor offences gives room to strife, debate, argument and all forms of confusion.

The Bible also warned us about vainglory.
After having a little breakthrough in prayer or ministry, we become inflated and full of ourselves and our fellowship with the brethren will be negatively affected.

In lowliness and humility, let us prefer one another. Selfishness, crave for personal gains and undue advantage should be avoided (Philippians 2:4). Saints of God foster fellowship by promoting good works among brethren for this is the will of God concerning us.

Let us be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm our cherished unity. We must not allow self-promotion to hide in our hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than ourselves.

You are blessed and honoured in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Everybody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!

Shalom and good morning.
