“STRATEGIES FOR THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile. For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous……… .” (Romans 1:16-17)

I refuse to be ashamed of the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere!

This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says: “We are right with God through life-giving faith!”

STRATEGIES FOR THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

At both personal and corporate levels, our commitment as torch bearers to seek and to save the lost may be expressed in the following strategies:-

Identify the people within your precinct and environment and develop effective ways of reaching each of them with the good news.

Live an exemplary upright life, free of corruption, bribery and cheating, in order to attract other people to the Lord.

People in the world today are generally regarded as hardened, insensitive and proud. Therefore we must cultivate a lifestyle of humility, compassion and pleasantries to attract them to Christ.

A wife must bring their husband to the Lord through the good testimonies of her own transformed life.

We must follow the footsteps of Eunice and Lois, by bringing up our children in the way of the Lord.

We can do this by organizing luncheons, tea outreaches, dinners and picnics for family friends, neighbours, colleagues with live choir featuring gospel preachers. We must also be involved in the distribution of Christian literature, tracts, magazines and Christian books at strategic places.

We can also organise free vocational schools, literacy classes and health talks and income generating skills for women. Such programs must always start with prayer and the word.

Organization of children reading clubs with the aim of reaching out to the young ones with the gospel is another means.

Special get together at Easter and end of the year will bear fruit. Focus must be on Christian activities (e.g.) film, video show, tracts, magazines and Christian gifts to be given as takeaways.

“DO THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST FOR GOD’S GLORY!”
