IMPORTANCE OF THE COUNSELLING MINISTRY

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Without clever tactics an army is defeated, and victory comes from much planning” (Proverbs 11:14).

Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

IMPORTANCE OF THE COUNSELLING MINISTRY ( Proverbs 11:14/15:22)

The importance of counselling has been clearly and powerfully stated in both negative and positive forms.

Example: – Where there is no counsel, the people fall. This could mean that without godly counselling in the church, believers could be overwhelmed by their problems and confusions.

If there is no counselling, the believers may get discouraged and disappointed and may fall out of faith. But in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety.

This is to say that through the counselling ministry, believers are helped to overcome their problems of life and continue in faith.

SEEKING AND RECEIVING GOD’S WISDOM IN COUNSELLING (James 1:5 / Matthew 7:7 / Jeremiah 29:13)

As shepherds over God’s flock, we must have deep love for the sheep. We must seek God through prayer for:

An endowment of the gift of wisdom and discretion which will enable us to always give wise counselling.

Pray to receive specific wisdom or insight into peculiar or complicated counselling cases. God promises to give wisdom to those who will ask of Him.

Moses, Daniel, Joseph and others in the Bible were endowed with wisdom for general counselling. They all sought God’s face for difficult and specific counselling cases.

As God Almighty gave them the needed wisdom in their situations, so also He will give us and help us in ours in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

WISDOM OF GOD IS YOURS IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!

Shalom and good morning.
