WOW – 30 JULY 2025: TIME AND HAPPINESS
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Jul 30, 2025
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
TIME AND HAPPINESS
“I have so much to do today that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer” (Martin Luther).
“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Moses – Psalm 90:12).
“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (King Solomon – Ecclesiastes 3:1).
The providence of God disposes and arranges every detail of man’s life.
In human affairs, providence arranges the moment when everything shall happen.
The duration of its operation and the time appropriate to it.
It is wisdom to do the right thing at the right time (Ecclesiastes 3:7).
Man is not independent under all circumstances and relations. He is in the hand of a power mightier than himself, who frames times and seasons according to His good pleasure.
God holds the thread of human life in some mysterious way. He directs and controls events.
There are certain laws which regulate the issues of actions and events.
There is, “A time to gain and a time to lose” (Ecclesiastes 3:6).
There is a proper and lawful pursuit of wealth and there is a wise and prudent submission to its inevitable loss.
The wise man who wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes knows when to exert his energy in improving his fortune and when to hold his hands and take failure without useless struggle.
We must also remember that sometimes loss is gain in disguise.
The departure of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ brought about the sending of the Comforter.
There are many things of which we know not the value till they are beyond our grasp. “I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever” (Ecclesiastes 3:14).
Behind man’s free action and volition stands the will of God, which orders events with a view to eternity.
Man cannot hasten or retard God’s designs. We cannot add nor curtail His plans.
We cannot add anything into or take anything away from those things which God has made that He may be feared.
There are eccentricities in the lives of people and in the course of this world’s events which we cannot control or change.
Our happiness is to make the best of the present and cheerfully enjoy what providence offers without anxious care for the future.
Some people confess that they are mortal but by their action, they profess to be immortal and consequently oppress their fellow men as though there is no all-seeing God.
Our pulses beat each moment to the pendulum of eternity. We are tied to the chariot of rolling time.
There is but one life and one death, one heaven and one hell.
Your choice in this fragment of time certainly determines your destiny.
Beloved, hence, there is one life, no duplicate, no matter how you try out, let us trust our soul to Jesus and prepare to meet our God.
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
